Our short visit to Yorkshire began with a quick visit to Ripon

Fountains Abbey was founded in 1132, after Dissolution by Henry VIII in 1539 it fell in to disrepair.  Today it is owned by the National Trust along with the Studley Royal water gardens and deer park.  This page has photos of all three parts of this estate including some of the deer.
